A prominent health and human services organization in Huntington, NY is seeking an experienced and compassionate Addiction Recovery Specialist (ARS) Therapist to join their team. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the ARS Therapist will be responsible for providing clinical services aimed at improving the recovery and well-being of clients.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: Temp to Perm
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (1pm to 9pm on Thursdays)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments for clients
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Perform breathalyzer and urine screenings, as required
- Collaborate with external service providers and agencies to coordinate care
- Participate in weekly case conferences and individual supervision
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and reporting standards
- Maintain a manageable caseload and meet productivity expectations
- Monitor and document client progress and treatment outcomes
Qualifications:
- 6+ months of related work experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree
- Any of the following certifications: LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC
- Experience working with individuals with substance use or co-occurring disorders
- Familiarity with OASAS regulations
