A leading mental health organization in New York is seeking an experienced Adult Inpatient Forensic Psychiatrist to join their team at the Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center. This position involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. **About the Opportunity:** - **Hybrid or Remote:** On-site - **Shift:** 8am-4pm - **Schedule:** Monday-Friday - **Setting:** Inpatient Forensic Mental Health **Responsibilities:** The **Adult Inpatient Forensic Psychiatrist** will be responsible for: - Delivering evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals involved in the criminal justice system, including those found incompetent to stand trial or not responsible due to mental disease. - Performing lethality assessments, suicide precautions, and forensic evaluations. - Ordering lab tests and performing medical triage as needed. - Providing psychiatric services via Video Teleconference. - Treating clients with safe and humane care and adhering to professional codes. - Conducting full psychiatric screenings and evaluations. - Participating in and managing treatment programs, including coordination of discharge plans. **Qualifications:** - Board-certified or Board Eligible Adult Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. - Valid license to practice medicine in New York State. - National Provider Identification Number (NPI). - Federal Narcotics Number (DEA Number). - Enrollment in CMS and participation in Medicare and Medicaid OPRA programs. - Enrollment in NYS Medicaid as a Billing Provider or related role. - Enrollment in NYS Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing/Prescription Monitoring Program (I-STOP/PMP). - Physical and mental capability to discharge professional responsibilities. **Desired Skills:** - Experience treating seriously mentally ill patients, ideally in forensic or correctional settings. - Board Eligible or Board Certified. - Enrollment in Medicaid and Medicare programs.
