Responsibilities:
The Backend Developer will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing robust backend services using Python
- Building, managing, and optimizing PostgreSQL and MSSQL databases
- Integrating with external APIs, backend systems, and OpenAI APIs
- Implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and managing both synchronous and asynchronous data flows
- Working with vector databases for AI-related indexing and retrieval
- Deploying and managing solutions in Azure, leveraging services like AKS, Service Bus, and more
- Developing in a Linux-based environment, automating workflows and deployments
- Collaborating with frontend, AI, and product teams to ensure smooth full-stack interactions
- Focusing on security, scalability, and performance across services and data layers
- Championing the use of AI development accelerators to increase efficiency
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of backend development experience, primarily with Python
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL and MSSQL in production environments
- Strong knowledge of API design, integration, and data processing pipelines
- Comfortable with both event-driven (async) and transactional (sync) architectures
- Solid understanding of security practices in cloud, container, and full-stack environments
- Exposure to OpenAI APIs, embeddings, or AI agent integrations
- Experience deploying in Azure, with hands-on use of AKS, APIM, Service Bus, DevOps, and Storage
- Background in Linux-based development and scripting
- Passion for adopting and learning AI-assisted development tools
- Experience with GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, OpenAI APIs
Desired Skills:
- Experience with DevSecOps or infrastructure as code in Azure
- Contributions to or interest in open-source Python tools
