Business Analyst
A Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst for our client in the McLean, VA area.
Overview:
- Seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Business Analyst with 5+ years of experience in requirements gathering, process documentation, and business systems optimization.
- This role will act as a bridge between product teams, technical stakeholders, and business areas to ensure requirements are accurate, traceable, and executed effectively.
- The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis expertise, excellent communication skills, and proven ability to support database decommissioning and process improvement initiatives.
- Full time remote work capability.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct requirements analysis and validation to ensure requirements are complete, consistent, traceable, feasible, and verifiable.
- Liaise between product teams and business stakeholders to validate and obtain sign-off on archived data prior to database decommissioning.
- Track requirements status across the project/product lifecycle, managing changes through backlog or board management.
- Create and communicate artifacts (business requirements, workflows, documentation) translating business needs into actionable requirements.
- Assist in technical reviews of Lotus Notes databases targeted for retirement.
- Support cross-functional collaboration to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize business processes.
- Apply business process modeling and system integration knowledge to recommend enhancements and efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process documentation.
- Strong knowledge of business process modeling, system integration, and requirements lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or other backlog/board management systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise between business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with database systems and experience supporting data migration or decommissioning efforts preferred.
Desired:
- Experience with Lotus Notes database decommissioning or legacy system retirement initiatives.
- Exposure to data governance and archival best practices.
- Knowledge of digital analytics tools to assess business performance and optimize processes.
