Business Portfolio Manager
A Top Fortune 50 Financial Institution in Vienna, VA is seeking a Business Portfolio Manager to support its Real Estate Lending team. This role will serve as a strategic partner, ensuring portfolio initiatives are aligned with enterprise strategy, investment-ready, and delivering measurable outcomes.
About the Opportunity:
- Location: HQ – Vienna, VA
- Shift: 9:00am – 5:00pm ET
- Campus Reporting Type: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week onsite, per institutional guidelines)
Responsibilities:
The Business Portfolio Manager will be responsible for:
- Translating strategic priorities into initiatives with clear value and outcomes
- Reviewing initiative submissions for readiness, value clarity, and segmentation
- Advising on prioritization, sequencing, and alignment with capacity and resources
- Monitoring implementation to ensure intended scope, value realization, and risk mitigation
- Partnering with leaders to provide executive-ready portfolio insights and recommendations
- Conducting post-implementation reviews and embedding lessons into future portfolio cycles
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15+ years overall professional experience
- Minimum 3+ years of portfolio management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- SAFe Lean Portfolio Management Certification (or equivalent)
- Proven success managing enterprise-wide portfolios, ideally in financial services
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Lean Portfolio Management, and value realization practices
- Skilled in executive communication, analytical judgment, and stakeholder influence
Desired Skills:
- Experience with product management or portfolio governance in financial services
- Strong data literacy with ability to translate metrics into strategic insights
- Advanced collaboration, facilitation, and adaptability in complex environments
