A public organization in New Jersey is currently seeking a Chief Risk Management and Claims Officer. This role involves overseeing risk management strategies and claims processes to protect organizational assets and minimize financial losses.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Responsibilities:
- Investigating loss exposures related to employee injuries and third-party claims, particularly under FELA and Workers’ Compensation
- Managing the corporate insurance program, including negotiating coverage and costs with insurance providers
- Directing loss control and claims processes, with authority for settlement decisions up to Board approval limits
- Leading the Monthly Bus and Rail Claim Review Committee for FELA and third-party claims
- Presenting key claims and insurance items to the Board of Directors
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in Risk Management and Corporate Insurance Management
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- In-depth knowledge of various insurance coverages
- Understanding of New Jersey risk management procedures and relevant statutes
- Ability to interpret contracts and evaluate insurance policies

Desired Skills:
