A leading firm specializing in cloud financial management is currently seeking an experienced Cloud Financial Analyst for a remote position. This role is pivotal in optimizing the financial aspects of cloud operations and providing strategic insights.

Responsibilities:

The Cloud Financial Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Participating in cloud architectural reviews to provide financial insights and prepare cost estimates.
  • Developing comprehensive monthly financial reports on cloud expenditure and usage trends.
  • Designing chargeback models to allocate cloud costs to business units.
  • Creating fiscal year financial projections for cloud spending and maintaining burndown charts.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and recommending optimization strategies.
  • Conducting in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborating with finance, IT, and engineering teams to align strategies with organizational goals.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and industry best practices.
  • Utilizing cloud cost management tools to monitor and report expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis with at least 3 years focused on cloud cost management.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Proven experience in preparing cost estimates for cloud resources.
  • Proficiency with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their pricing models.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling tools.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working cross-functionally.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with FinOps practices and certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner).
  • Knowledge of cloud governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automating cost analysis tasks.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
