Responsibilities:
The Cloud Financial Analyst will be responsible for:
- Participating in cloud architectural reviews to provide financial insights and prepare cost estimates.
- Developing comprehensive monthly financial reports on cloud expenditure and usage trends.
- Designing chargeback models to allocate cloud costs to business units.
- Creating fiscal year financial projections for cloud spending and maintaining burndown charts.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and recommending optimization strategies.
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborating with finance, IT, and engineering teams to align strategies with organizational goals.
- Ensuring compliance with financial policies and industry best practices.
- Utilizing cloud cost management tools to monitor and report expenditures.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis with at least 3 years focused on cloud cost management.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Proven experience in preparing cost estimates for cloud resources.
- Proficiency with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing).
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their pricing models.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling tools.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working cross-functionally.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with FinOps practices and certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner).
- Knowledge of cloud governance frameworks and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automating cost analysis tasks.
