A leading talent group in Northern Virginia is currently seeking Data Center Technicians to join their rapidly expanding team. This role involves handling hardware and network diagnostics, as well as undertaking physical repairs and diagnostics.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: On-site in Herndon, Virginia
- Shift: Rotation
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Hours: Varied, includes on-call support
- Setting: Data Center
Responsibilities:
The Data Center Technician will be responsible for:
- Conducting hardware and network diagnostics
- Performing physical repairs on equipment
- Installing new equipment and systems
- Creating comprehensive documentation
- Innovating solutions for complex issues within the Data Center
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience
- Degree in IT-related field or equivalent experience
- CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications
- Advanced understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
- Basic understanding of computer networking
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Willingness to undergo a background check
- Physical capability to lift up to 50lbs and work in challenging spaces
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with on-call rotation
Desired Skills:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in IT
- Knowledge of RAID, SAN, and X86 Architecture
- Familiarity with SCSI, Boot Process, and GRUB/LILO
- Experience with file systems
- Knowledge of Redundant Array of Independent Disks
