Join Tandym Group as a Data Center Technician in Northern Virginia. We are seeking motivated individuals for our night shift team to provide critical 24x7 technical support in a dynamic data center environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: On-site
- Shift: Night Shift
- Schedule: Full-time
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Data Center, with local travel within a 5-mile radius (mileage reimbursed)
Responsibilities:
The Data Center Technician will be responsible for:
- Providing 24x7 technical support in the data center.
- Installing and configuring network systems from the data link layer to application layer.
- Monitoring and maintaining network availability for remote server access.
- Engaging in site layout, network construction planning, and quality control for data safety.
- Supervising server support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in IT or data center roles
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field
- A+ and CCNA certifications (preferred)
- Knowledge of network architecture, TCP/IP, and routing
- Experience with server installation and configuration
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Desired Skills:
- 1+ years of experience in a similar role
- RAID, SAN, SCSI, and boot process knowledge
- Knowledge of power and air flow systems
- Proven experience in customer and coworker interaction
- Strong oral and written communication skills
