A top Fortune 50 financial client in Virginia is currently seeking a Data Risk Analyst to join its Human Resources Risk Office. The analyst will support enterprise-wide data governance initiatives and manage data privacy, quality, and compliance risks within HR systems.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid: Standard 2x per week onsite at HQ in Vienna, VA
- Hours: 40 hours per week, standard business hours
- Setting: Corporate / Human Resources Risk Office

- Environment: Cross-functional collaboration with IT, Legal, Compliance, and Data Governance teams
Responsibilities:
The Data Risk Analyst will be responsible for:
- Supporting data transfer authorization tasks and documentation
- Collaborating with business and IT teams to identify and mitigate data risks
- Assisting with the development and enforcement of data governance policies and procedures
- Monitoring compliance with data privacy laws and internal standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX)
- Producing dashboards, reports, and scorecards for data risk reporting and analysis
- Participating in data incident investigations, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts
- Managing a register of data risks and control gaps, ensuring timely follow-up
- Promoting accountability and awareness around data governance and risk mitigation
- Keeping current with industry best practices and emerging regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, data governance, audit, or compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Risk Management, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- Preferred Certifications: CDPSE, CIPP, CRISC, CDMP
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Familiarity with data regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX)
- Experience with GRC platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Archer, OneTrust, LogicGate)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
