A recognized pharmaceutical company is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff as their new Director, Commercial Procurement. In this role, the Director, Commercial Procurement will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies across key commercial categories—marketing, advertising, market access, patient support, and professional services.
- Contract engagement: June 2025 - January 2026 (extension or conversion possible based on performance and resources)
- Weekly Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
- Locations: Waltham, MA or Conshohocken, PA
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead strategic sourcing initiatives across commercial spend categories (e.g., media, agencies, consulting, market research)
- Partner with stakeholders in Marketing, Sales, and Market Access to understand business needs and align procurement solutions
- Manage contract negotiations, supplier selection, and performance evaluation to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance
- Drive process improvements and procurement innovation in support of commercial excellence
- Build strong partnerships with Legal, Compliance, and Finance to ensure governance and risk mitigation
- Monitor industry trends and supplier market dynamics to inform strategic decisions
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Procurement, with at least 5 years in Commercial / Indirect Sourcing within Life Sciences or a related industry
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Procurement categories in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech setting
- Proven experience in Vendor Management, Contract Negotiation, and Category Strategy Development
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
