A health services network in New York City is looking to add a Dosimetrist to its Radiology team at their Queens-based facility.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Acute Care
Responsibilities:
- Design, generate, and measure radiation dose distributions and dose calculations while providing oversight to high level treatment procedures in both external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy
- Communicate the patient’s treatment plan to the Radiation Therapists by providing field arrangements, beam modification devices, and any concerns that may arise during treatment planning phase
- Perform calculations for accurate delivery of the Radiation Oncologist's prescribed dose, documents pertinent information in the patient record, and verifies the mathematical accuracy of all calculation
- Prepare computerized plans for radiation therapy patients (EBRT and Brachytherapy)
- Check patient’s charts to assure the prescribed delivery of radiation
- Maintain clinical competence by attending continuing education programs
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- MOSAIQ Pinnacle Minimum of 1 year of experience
- 1+ yr EPIC Beacon and/or Aria OIS experience
- Bachelor’s Degree certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
- Strong technical skills in math and physics to accurately design radiation plans
- Overall knowledge of Mathematics, Physics, Anatomy, Physiology, and Radiobiology
