Engineering Operations Electrical Technician – Rack Power Deployment
Tandym Group is hiring detail-oriented and safety-focused Electrical Technicians to join our Fortune 10 Client’s data center operations team. This role centers on the deployment and connection of rack power systems, following precise standard operating procedures (SOPs). Candidates must have experience working in critical environments and demonstrate strong adherence to safety protocols. This is a hands-on electrical role, requiring the ability to work in elevated temperatures and physical environments.
Responsibilities:
- Route and connect rack-mounted power cables in accordance with SOPs.
- Plug in and verify electrical connections (no fiber or networking involved).
- Follow strict step-by-step SOPs for rack power installation and verification.
- Work at heights (up to 4 feet) on ladders to access cable routing paths.
- Operate safely within hot environments (typically 80–85°F) and confined spaces.
- Conduct visual inspections of power connections and document completion.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in work areas.
- Communicate proactively with site leadership regarding task status or issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with high voltage/electrical work in industrial or critical environments
- Proven ability to work from SOPs and documentation without deviation.
- Comfortable working in high-reliability environments, including data centers or critical facilities.
- Familiarity with rack power systems, plug-in procedures, and cable management best practices.
- Ability to consistently work in warm environments (80–85°F).
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
- Safety-conscious, professional, and highly reliable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Basic understanding of power distribution within IT infrastructure.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
