A leading company in Herndon, VA is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) - Mechanical/Electrical to join their dynamic team. This position involves critical operations in state-of-the-art data centers, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the infrastructure.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: On-site
- Shift: Rotating
- Schedule: 3 to 4 day work weeks
- Hours: 12-hour shifts
- Setting: Data Center
Responsibilities:
The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) will be responsible for:
- Operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Conducting limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes and battery system PMs.
- Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
- Ensuring adherence to safety procedures during work.
- Supervising contractors performing service or maintenance.
- Taking daily operational readings and reporting to Senior Engineers.
- Maintaining power and cooling of facility, ensuring clean rooms for critical environments.
- Administrative tasks, including data entry and writing work orders.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Technical training and/or relevant experience (Military/Trade School).
- Experience in a Data Center or a Critical Environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid leadership and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, high energy, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
