A leading firm in New Albany, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems. This role is essential for ensuring continuous availability and high performance of our state-of-the-art data centers.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: On-site
- Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: 3 to 4 day work weeks
- Hours: Full-time
- Setting: Data center environment
Responsibilities:
The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician will be responsible for:
- Operating and maintaining all mechanical and electrical equipment
- Conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures
- Performing preventive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events
- Ensuring adherence to all safety procedures
- Supervising contractors during servicing or maintenance
- Working a 12-hour shift with overtime paid at time-and-a-half
- Reading and reporting daily operational data
- Managing building workflows using internal CMMS
- Performing equipment walkthroughs for smooth operations
- Handling administrative tasks such as data entry and work order authorizations
- Maintaining optimal power and cooling in critical environments
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of relevant work experience
- Technical (Military/Trade School) training and/or equivalent experience
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration certification
- Experience in Data Center or Critical Environment settings
- Skills in Troubleshooting, Preventative Maintenance, Power Distribution
- Solid communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments
Desired Skills:
- Experience with HVAC, Generators, Refrigeration, Electrical systems
- Understanding of Building Management Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
- Familiarity with Critical Facility operations and systems like 480V, Air Handling Unit, and Uninterruptible Power Supply
