A leading firm in New Albany, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems. This role is essential for ensuring continuous availability and high performance of our state-of-the-art data centers.


About the Opportunity:

  • Hybrid or Remote: On-site
  • Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: 3 to 4 day work weeks
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Setting: Data center environment

Responsibilities:

The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician will be responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining all mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures
  • Performing preventive maintenance tasks
  • Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events
  • Ensuring adherence to all safety procedures
  • Supervising contractors during servicing or maintenance
  • Working a 12-hour shift with overtime paid at time-and-a-half
  • Reading and reporting daily operational data
  • Managing building workflows using internal CMMS
  • Performing equipment walkthroughs for smooth operations
  • Handling administrative tasks such as data entry and work order authorizations
  • Maintaining optimal power and cooling in critical environments

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of relevant work experience
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training and/or equivalent experience
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration certification
  • Experience in Data Center or Critical Environment settings
  • Skills in Troubleshooting, Preventative Maintenance, Power Distribution
  • Solid communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with HVAC, Generators, Refrigeration, Electrical systems
  • Understanding of Building Management Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Familiarity with Critical Facility operations and systems like 480V, Air Handling Unit, and Uninterruptible Power Supply
