A leading company in Jackson, Mississippi is currently seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) with a focus on Mechanical and Electrical systems. This role involves working within state-of-the-art data centers for a highly reputable, Fortune top 40 company.
About the Opportunity:- Shift: Rotating
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts
- Setting: Data Center
- Operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Conducting limited maintenance tasks, such as filter changes and battery system PMs.
- Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
- Ensuring adherence to all safety procedures during work.
- Supervising contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Taking daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Utilizing internal CMMS to manage building workflows.
- Providing operational readings to Senior Engineers for metrics reporting.
- Ensuring smooth operation of equipment through routine walkthroughs.
- Performing administrative tasks, including data entry in Excel and writing work authorizations.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Technical training (Military/Trade School) or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a Data Center or Critical Environment
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification
- Proficiency in handling mechanical and electrical equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid leadership and organizational skills
- Attention to detail with high energy
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Experience in HVAC, Generator, Refrigeration, and Electrical systems
- Familiarity with Critical Facility operations
- Understanding of 480V systems, Air Handling Units, and Automatic Transfer Switches
- Knowledge of Uninterruptible Power Supply, Chillers, and Transformers
