A healthcare organization in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner to join their growing team in the Bronx. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for diagnosis and treatment of common and chronic illness focusing on health promotion and disease prevention activities.
Responsibilities:
- Prescribe medications and treatments
- Collaborate with other members of the team in the provision of regular health screening and other health promotion measures
- Make home/hospital visits to clients and/or takes calls
- Participate in special projects and committees
- Participate in BIMC/PACC committees, as directed by Director of School Based Health Program
- Act as preceptor for selected students and staff
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years or nursing experience and one year as a Nurse Practitioner
- BSN and MSN Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- License: Registered Nurse in New York State
- Board Certified
- Certification: Nurse Practitioner Certification & Registration, Certified or eligible for certification by recognized specialty organization, Current practice agreement
- Demonstrated organizational, clinical, and interpersonal skills, as well as ability to problem solve using critical thinking
- Demonstrated basic computer skills including typing proficiency
