#### Field Service Controls Technician A nationwide industrial services firm is currently seeking a **Field Service Controls Technician** in South Bend, Indiana, to support critical infrastructure projects across diverse industries. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about electrical and mechanical systems, controls troubleshooting, and customer-facing work. **About the Opportunity:** - **Setting:** Field-based, with travel to customer and construction sites - **Schedule:** Full-time, Monday–Friday - **Hours:** Day shift; occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required based on project needs - **Industry Focus:** Mission critical, renewable energy, manufacturing, and utilities - **Growth:** Internal training programs and fast-track promotion culture **Responsibilities:** The **Field Service Controls Technician** will be responsible for: - Performing preventive maintenance, repair, and commissioning of Building Monitoring Systems (BMS/EPMS) - Providing high-level technical service and engineering support for customers and internal teams - Assisting with SCADA controls design, IP infrastructure planning, and functional system testing - Supporting system deployments including PLC programming, feedback loops, and alarm integrations - Conducting point-to-point verifications and system commissioning in coordination with project stakeholders - Validating electrical and mechanical controls sequences and alarm configurations - Implementing QA procedures throughout project stages to ensure system integrity **Qualifications:** - 1–3 years of field experience in electrical, engineering, construction, or critical facility operations (relevant military experience also considered) - Associate’s degree in engineering technology or a related technical discipline preferred - Experience with basic electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, signal generators) - Understanding of electrical/mechanical schematics, MEP prints, chiller control circuits, and industrial HVAC systems - Familiarity with platforms: Rockwell Factory Talk, Tridium, Schneider Electric (Powerlogic/Struxureware), Siemens (Apogee), Ignition (Inductive Automation), Eaton Networks, Field Servers, JACE Controllers - Protocols knowledge: Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet, Niagara - Working knowledge of SCADA, BMS, EPMS, PLC, and low voltage control systems - HMI/SCADA integrations and industrial automation programming - Power user-level experience with Windows OS - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work independently in fast-paced, customer-facing environments - Strong organizational and troubleshooting abilities **Desired Skills:** - 3–5 years of field service experience in a mission-critical or industrial setting - Industrial automation and controls programming experience - Database development and system integration exposure - Strong problem-solving mindset and self-motivation Join a firm that values innovation, continuous learning, and team success, with growth-oriented opportunities and competitive benefits.
