A pharmaceutical company in the Greater Philadelphia area is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their team as their new Global Operations & Medical Excellence Director. In this role, the Global Operations & Medical Excellence Director will be responsible for working on cross-functional efforts to optimize operations, implement technology solutions, and drive process innovation to enhance Medical Affairs' effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute programs, projects, and support activities aligned with business objectives
  • Execute programs spanning different Medical functions, which may include medical planning, metrics and KPI development and tracking, Thought Leader engagement strategy and planning, Congress Management, Medical Affairs Leadership Team meeting planning, Medical Product Team meeting planning, Lifecycle Team Management meeting planning, Medical Affairs Communications, day-to-day operations, etc.
  • Preparing and presenting reports and updates to the status of specific initiatives to inform decision making process
  • Apply program management best practices in the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing of projects
  • Maintain program-specific timelines and deliverables, including critical program, financial (budgets), and communication milestones
  • Ensure efficient and effective planning, communications, and meetings, plus leading ad-hoc strategic projects to ensure complete integration of processes and information
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences and/or a related field
  • Deep understanding of Medical Affairs functions, processes, and regulatory landscape
  • Experience of overseeing business operations (e.g., RFPs, contracting, budgeting, vendor management)
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading and contributing to strategic and operational projects
  • Demonstrated exceptional skills in use of MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word), Smartsheet, SharePoint and Teams
  • Proven success in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives globally
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic and critical thinking, coupled with the ability to deliver tactically across global, local and cross-functional teams
  • Experience overseeing business operations (e.g., RFPs, contracting, budgeting, vendor management)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilitie
  • Exceptional judgment, strategic insight, and attention to detail
  • Advanced Degree (MBA, PharmD, Ph.D., etc.)
