Lead Systems Analyst

A top Fortune 50 financial institution in Vienna, VA is currently seeking a Lead Systems Analyst to lead complex system analyses, feasibility studies, and implementation projects. This role will plan, coordinate, and oversee full lifecycle system implementation while providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

About the Opportunity:

  • Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite at HQ in Vienna, VA
  • Shift: Standard business hours
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Setting: Corporate IT environment

Responsibilities:
The Lead Systems Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Designing and documenting complex technical solutions, including technical architecture, logical data models, system processes, program specifications, and testing procedures
  • Leading and coordinating cross-departmental projects; assigning tasks and overseeing project teams
  • Reviewing and approving team work, ensuring adherence to standards and user requirements
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to team members; staying current on emerging technologies
  • Designing, building, and implementing programs based on detailed specifications
  • Interacting with customers to gather and document functional requirements, business functions, procedural flows, data elements, performance criteria, and security requirements
  • Analyzing and revising complex existing system logic, determining modifications or additions, and testing program modules
  • Developing and implementing data verification methods and standard system procedures
  • Planning, coordinating, and organizing coding, testing, documentation, and implementation of programs and supporting procedures
  • Reporting on system flexibility and scalability; developing project plans and providing information to leadership for priority setting
  • Leading, guiding, and mentoring lower-level team members
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with advanced programming languages, systems analysis, and design techniques
  • Strong knowledge of structured programming, design, and analysis techniques
  • Significant experience in full lifecycle project planning and management within large, complex IS environments
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment
  • Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Advanced organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Financial institutional knowledge
