A health services organization in Southern Massachusetts is currently seeking a Social Worker (LCSW or LCISW) to join their growing team.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:30am to 5pm
Responsibilities:
- Assess emotional factors related to terminal illness, as well as environmental resources and obstacles to maintain safety
- Provide emotional support, short-term crisis intervention, and individual and/or family counseling
- Maintain contact with appropriate community agencies and services in order to promote interagency cooperation and to facilitate related referrals
- Evaluate patient/family response to psychosocial interventions
- Assess special needs related to cultural diversity, including communication, space, role of family members, and special traditions
- Perform comprehensive initial psychosocial assessments
- Assess the patient/family psychosocial status, potential for risk of suicide, and/or abuse or neglect
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Active Massachusetts Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and/or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
- Solid understanding of Hospice philosophy related to families in crisis and end-of-life issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of related Social Work experience
- Hospice background
