A healthcare facility in Pembroke Pines, Florida is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for an ongoing temporary assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a newly renovated environment with a focus on behavioral healthcare.


About the Opportunity:

  • Hybrid or Remote: On-site
  • Shift: Day shift (7am - 7:30pm) and Night shift (7pm - 7:30am) required, with flexibility for either shift.
  • Schedule: Flexible, must be available to work any day of the week as coordinated directly with the Director of Nursing.
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Setting: Behavioral healthcare home with a focus on medication and health interventions for intellectually disabled residents.

Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring residents receive correct medications according to doctor's orders and recording them accurately.
  • Administering medications properly and promptly.
  • Monitoring therapeutic positioning, range of motion, and addressing maladaptive behaviors.
  • Counting and recording narcotics and controlled substances at each shift's start and end.
  • Ensuring accurate nursing documentation and record-keeping.
  • Submitting timely reports for nursing assessments and tracking forms.
  • Observing and reporting the effects of medications and any unusual responses.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in nursing (mandatory).
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Current and active State of Florida LPN license.
  • Experience in a group home or ICF setting is a plus.
  • Must pass Level II Background, drug screening, PPD, and physical.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Reliable and able to be counted on to show up for work as scheduled.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • 2+ years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Previous experience in behavioral healthcare settings is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
