A leading health and human services organization in Staten Island, NY is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their outpatient treatment facility. This role focuses on supporting patients with substance use disorders in a methadone clinic setting. **About the Opportunity:** - **Hybrid or Remote:** In-person - **Shift:** Day - **Schedule:** Tuesday to Saturday - **Hours:** 6 AM - 2 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch) - **Overtime:** Possible for dispensary reconciliation - **Setting:** Outpatient clinic focusing on substance use and mental health **Responsibilities:** The **Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)** will be responsible for: - Assisting with patient care, including checking vital signs and administering injections. - Taking patient medical histories and entering data into the computer system. - Maintaining accurate charting and medical records. - Dressing wounds and reinforcing instructions provided by an RN or Physician. - Notifying RN or Physician of patient condition changes. - Contacting pharmacies to order prescriptions. - Initiating emergency assistance as needed. - Attending staff development training and maintaining knowledge of best practices. **Qualifications:** - 1+ year of nursing experience. - High School Diploma or GED. - Graduation from a Technical or Vocational LPN Program. - Experience with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and/or Serious Mental Illness (SMI). - Methadone experience. - NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or Registered Nurse (RN). - BLS certification. - Proficiency with medical terminology and computer systems. **Desired Skills:** - Associate Degree in Nursing. - Experience in a multi-disciplinary team setting. - Knowledge of Crisis Management and techniques to prevent violent behavior.
