A community health center in Los Angeles is currently seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join their growing Pediatrics team.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8a - 5p
- EMR: ECW
- Patient Population: Pediatrics
Responsibilities:
- Administer immunizations and medications
- Assist the Doctors with examinations and other procedures relating to direct patient care
- Dress wounds, catheterization and irrigation
- Administer EKG’s and IV therapy
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records, enter data into the electronic health record (EHR)
- Instruct patients about procedures, preparation for tests or examinations, and self-care upon discharge
- Assist with patient flow including receiving/greeting patients; locating charts/electronic health records; ensuring all laboratory and other test results are in the chart and/or EHR; answering the telephone; and referring patients to appropriate person
Qualifications:
- A valid Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of California
- Working knowledge of direct patient care methods and practices in a Community clinic setting
Desired Skills:
