A community services organization based in New York is actively seeking new Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) to join their staff for a one week event in Long Island NY.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Sunday (40hr work week)
- Hours: 8hrs per day (some evenings)
Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and engage in friendly conversation with patients and guests
- Answer telephones and schedule patient appointments accurately in the computer system
- Perform a variety of patient care functions based on age-specific needs using age-appropriate communication technique
- Collect and accurately label specimens; prepare specimens and required paperwork for collection by affiliated laboratories
- Restock exam/treatment rooms and medical supply inventory on a daily basis
- Complete all necessary forms in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist with various medical procedures, as required
- Perform other job-related duties, as required
Qualifications:
- Certified and non-certified candidates are allowed; they need to confirm completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) training program (Work experience only is not valid!)
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- High School Diploma / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) training program
Desired Skills:
- Phlebotomy certification
- Tech-savvy
- Comfortable working independently
