A healthcare network in Florida is currently seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join their growing Evening shift team in Orlando on a Part-time basis. Working three hours each evening, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and medical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office during extended hours.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Evenings (Part-time)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 5pm to 8pm
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient rooming, including vitals
- Interview patients and document basic medical history in electronic records
- Gather information for medication reconciliation
- Conduct laboratory services, testing of specimens as needed
- Assist in coordination of prior authorizations and other pharmacy support
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Prepare and administer medications through intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections including vaccinations/immunizations
- Oversee the monitoring, stock control and documentation of controlled drug usage per legal requirements where appropriate
- Prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests, as needed
- Perform other duties, as needed or assigned
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification
- Phlebotomy experience
- Possess or can master Microsoft Office Platforms, E-Clinical Works Electronic Medical Record
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Desired Skills:
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree
