Public Health & Safety organization is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join their team.
About the Opportunity
- Schedule: part time 5 to 10 hours per month
- Hours: Varies
- Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
Responsibilities included but not limited to are:
- The Clinician will provide guidance and support to management to ensure the most up-to-date best practices are followed.
- Provide mental health services (24/7) to any employee who may be experiencing a mental health crisis, either in person or virtual assistance is accepted.
- The anticipated goal for this service need is to respond to the individual within three (3) hours upon notice.
- Upon meeting with the individual and determining the specific mental health crisis after the one (1) session, then the Clinician should be able to refer the employee to other suitable and competent mental health professional who will continue to provide services to the employee.
- The Clinician(s) should complete Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention courses through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF).
- Conducts mental health evaluations, crisis intervention and assessments.
- Determines and coordinates disposition of patients for appropriate level of mental health care.
- Coordinates patient care with other institutional programs.
- Completes all required documentation.
Requirements:
- The Clinician(s) should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a mental health professional, preferred if the individual has experience working with 1st line public safety personnel (law enforcement, fire).
- Listed are a few examples of some possible job titles for qualified experience: Master in Social Work (MSW); Licensed MSW; Certified Mental Health Counselor; Clinical Social Worker (CSW); Psychotherapist; Psychologist; Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner; Applied Behavioral Therapist (ABT) or other.
