A community-based outpatient mental health program is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to join its Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS) team. This is a clinical role providing recovery-focused, harm-reduction services to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 35 hours/week
- Program / Team: Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS)
Responsibilities:
- Lead a minimum of three recovery-focused groups per day
- Provide peer support, education, and skill-building to promote member recovery and reduce stigma
- Collaborate on recovery plans and conduct needs assessments with the rehabilitation team
- Support new client orientation and engagement
- Conduct outreach via calls, home visits, or letters to re-engage members who have disengaged
- Provide crisis intervention and link members to appropriate community resources (housing, education, self-help groups, etc.)
- Offer support to family members and encourage natural community support
- Assist in maintaining a safe and recovery-oriented program environment
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and daily planning sessions
Qualifications:
- 6+ months of relevant Mental Health and/or related work experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Strong understanding of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Recovery models
- Knowledge of Local Community and Mental Health resources
