A leading academic medical center in New Jersey is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Neurologist to provide inpatient coverage.
The role involves working with a collaborative team of residents and advanced practice providers (APPs), providing consultative care for a wide range of neurological conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient consultative care for patients with neurological conditions such as:
- Stroke and TIA mimics
- Seizures and status epilepticus
- Encephalopathy
- Head pain beyond ER diagnosis
- Neuromuscular and spinal cord disorders
- Autoimmune and paraneoplastic neurological conditions
- Nervous system infections
- Vestibular and neuro-ophthalmologic disorders
- Perform and supervise bedside lumbar punctures
- Collaborate with APPs and neurology residents in a team-based care model
- Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
- Educate trainees and clinical staff on neurology-related topics
- Provide on-call coverage daily from 6:00 PM to 9:00 AM
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
- Experience in inpatient neurology and procedural skills (e.g., lumbar puncture)
- Familiarity with Epic EMR
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, academic hospital setting
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with APPs and residents
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and flexible scheduling
