A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Medical-Surgical Unit in Manhattan as a Nurse Educator.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 13-week contract
- Schedule: 4 to 5 shifts per week
- Hours: 8am to 4pm
- Department: Nursing In-Service Education
- EMR: EPIC
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, revise, conduct, and evaluate didactic and clinical orientation curriculum/programs for new nursing staff
- Act as a mentor for new and incumbent staff
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational activities based on the learning needs survey
- Encourage/assist the Nursing personnel in attending internal/external educational activities; maintain attendance records for programs
- Circulate, schedule, and individually communicate information regarding classes, conferences, and courses
- Maintain educational records of programs presented/attended; submit reports in a timely manner
- Participate in the evaluation of nursing practice and make recommendations for the development/revision of nursing standards
- Participate in developing/writing policies and procedures, and establishing standards to ensure productivity and safe patient care
- Assist in the evaluation of new products and equipment, and arrange in-service training for staff
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Nurse Education experience in an Acute Care setting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Previous experience in a Medical-Surgical role/setting
