A leading college in Purchase, NY is currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Student Health Services. This role involves providing primary health care for college students under the supervision of a licensed physician.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: On site
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30 am - 5 pm
- Hours: Full-time
- Setting: College/Student Health Services
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for:
- Providing primary medical care for college students.
- Eliciting medical history and performing physical examinations.
- Recording information in patient charts.
- Ordering and performing diagnostic tests.
- Counseling patients on test results and follow-up treatments.
Qualifications:
- 2 years post-licensure experience in a primary care setting.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
- NYS licensure as NP or PA.
- CPR/AED certification.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems, preferably Medicat.
- Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Empathy and understanding for working with adolescents and young adults.
Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of experience preferred.
- Master’s Degree or higher.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
- Proficiency in electronic health records.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
