A healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Oncologist to join their Hematology/Oncology team. This is a contract opportunity providing outpatient coverage, with a flexible schedule and potential for extension.
About the Opportunity:
- Location: Connecticut (multiple outpatient sites)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (flexible)
- Duration: 3+ months, with potential to extend
- Setting: Primarily outpatient, with possible inpatient component
- On-Call: Physicians – every 3rd weekend & 1 weekday; APPs – no call
- Coverage need due to provider leave
Responsibilities:
The Hem/Onc Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician will be responsible for:
- Managing oncology follow-up visits
- Performing chemotherapy teaching for patients
- Providing emergent support to onsite infusion centers
- Conducting in-office bone marrow biopsies
- Supporting general oncology patient base (GI/GU focus preferred, generalists welcome)
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut medical license (or ability to obtain quickly)
- 2+ years of Hem/Onc or related clinical experience preferred
- Graduate degree (NP, PA, or MD/DO)
- Current NPI, DEA, and CDS
- Strong clinical judgment and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience with bone marrow biopsies
- Oncology/hematology subspecialty training or exposure
- Ability to adapt across outpatient and inpatient settings
