About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, flexible start times (7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, or 9am - 5pm)
- Hours: Full-time; part-time options available
- Setting: Group Homes
Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for:
- Reviewing MD referrals and medical records to determine necessary OT treatment.
- Evaluating and assessing needs and level of functioning for individuals.
- Conferencing with healthcare practitioners to obtain additional treatment info.
- Devising treatment plans and administering therapies.
- Writing detailed, outcome-oriented documentation.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in occupational therapy.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- New York State Occupational Therapy license.
- Proficiency in OT evaluation and treatment techniques.
- Experience supervising assistants and aides.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Adaptability to various therapeutic situations.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Advanced certifications in occupational therapy specialization areas.
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
