A medical center in Northern NJ is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Hospitalist for locum tenens coverage. The role includes inpatient pediatric care, nursery coverage, and attending deliveries. The physician will work closely with the NICU team and provide both onsite and on-call support.
About the opportunity:
Titles: Pediatric Hospitalist
Schedule: Cover 10 shifts per month, including 3 weekend days, onsite coverage from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Call: Be on-call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM
Responsibilities:
- Manage pediatric hospital medicine beds and nursery patients
- Attend deliveries as needed
- Handle a daily patient load of 10–14
- Collaborate with NICU physicians (as backup support)
- Use Epic EMR system for documentation
- Inpatient-only responsibilities; no procedures required
Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Pediatrics
- Ability to work independently (solo coverage)
- Experience in trauma level II facilities preferred
