A medical services company in New York City is looking to add a new Program Director to their team in the Bronx. In this role, the Program Director will ensure quality care and oversees the functions of the program according to regulatory bodies and accreditation requirements.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire possibility)
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (alternating weekends)
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the program, including service delivery, compliance, and achievement of performance targets.
- Lead and supervise staff, including hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Manage program budget and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Develop and implement program content addressing client needs such as life skills, time management, and critical thinking.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards (e.g., DOH, OTDA, DHS, HUD).
- Administer site operations including procurement, food service, and facility maintenance.
- Interpret and implement policies and procedures; ensure staff adherence.
- Plan and coordinate program activities, peer support events, and staff meetings.
- Set and monitor performance goals; ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Analyze program data to inform improvements and ensure quality service delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and community partners.
- Conduct internal audits and quality assurance reviews.
- Provide crisis intervention and support for critical incidents.
- Supervise staff performance through regular one-on-one meetings and professional development.
- Serve as Incident Commander and ensure a safe, secure environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work or related field (required)
- Master Degree in Social Work (preferred)
- Valid New York State LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC (preferred)
- Seven (7+) years of experience with homeless population or special needs population (mental illness, substance abuse, HIV, etc.)
- Five (5+) years must be in a managerial position
- Experience working with individuals and/or families facing homelessness
- Experience in staff training and development
- Understanding of funding and industry regulations and a track record of meeting compliance standards
- Strong leadership, excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work on a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environment
- Ability to multitask and to work and function under pressure
