A nonprofit organization is seeking a Program Director in Far Rockaway, New York, to lead its expanding Elder Justice Program.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm
  • Setting: 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan and oversee the day-to-day management of program activities
  • Supervise Social Workers, Case Assistants, and student interns, providing regular individual and group supervision to guide their work and professional development
  • Oversee the entire client intake process, including managing eligibility screenings, triaging emergency interventions, and assigning cases to staff
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with case records, conducting client case reviews, and verifying service plans
  • Conduct quarterly peer reviews to maintain high standards of service
  • Manage contract deliverables and ensure that all program activities and documentation are in full compliance
  • Collaborate within an Interdisciplinary team and with partnering agencies to provide comprehensive support to older adult survivors
  • Actively spearhead presentations on elder abuse and engage in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness, educate the public, and advocate for elder justice
  • Manage logistical aspects like the procurement and inventory of client supplies, office equipment, materials, and vendor invoices
  • Maintain consistent communication with senior leadership regarding program status and any emergencies
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work
  • NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Managerial role working with vulnerable and at-risk older adults.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, and individual values as they relate to serving vulnerable and at-risk older adults
