A New York based non-profit is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, to provide medical and psychiatric evaluation and treatment as part of a clinic based, multidisciplinary team and in a clinic environment, focused on individuals in Suffolk County with mental health conditions.

Qualifications:
- Current NYS licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner through the NYS Education Department
- Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License
- Fingerprinting and criminal background check
- Approval from NYS Office of Mental Health
Job Function:
Provide psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team within the Clinical Services Department, serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments and provide ongoing treatment
- Develop, maintain, and supervise medication administration procedures and psychiatric treatment protocols
- Provide back-up medical coverage during staff absences, including administration of IM injections when needed
- Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation, including:
- Progress notes for all sessions, phone calls, and collateral contacts
- Initial and updated psychiatric assessments
Supervision & Training
- Supervise RNs and LPNs on medication administration practices
- Provide training and professional development to staff on psychiatric medications and treatments
