About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
- Schedule: 3 days per week
- Hours: 8-10 hours per week
- Patient Population: Ages 6-22
Responsibilities:
The Psych NP
will:
- Conducts intake assessments, with multiaxial diagnosis.
- Identifies need for, initiates, and coordinates referrals for specialty consultations
- Coordinates follow-up with external medical specialists.
- Medication Evaluation and Review
- Assess clients to determine if pharmacotherapy is warranted.
- Prescribe appropriate medication for client condition, conduct periodic medication review to monitor medication effectiveness and possible side effects, adjust medication regime according to client needs
Qualifications:
- Requires a Master’s of Science Nursing (MSN) degree or a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- Minimum 3 years experience in the field required.
- Must hold a valid Virginia license as issued by the Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
- Must hold a Professional Certification by examination consistent with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Must be independently licensed for autonomous practice.
