QA Analyst
A Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated QA Analyst for our client in the McLean, VA area.
Overview:
- To conduct functional and regression testing on automated systems to ensure compliance with business practices and policies. To assist with comprehensive testing of enhancements to new and existing software, as well as new systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complete regression tests of new and existing systems (legacy and vendor) when new or modified functions are introduced (basic/routine).
- Conduct functional tests to confirm proper operation, correct system interfacing, and accurate reporting (moderately complex/varied).
- Create and edit test cases in accordance with system requirements.
- Identify and analyze business and system requirements (needs, objectives, functions, features, input, and output). Document problems, possible causes, and potential solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project concepts, objectives, and approaches.
- Maintain a complete testing log, including time spent testing, issues encountered, time lost due to incomplete documentation/test plans, or deficiencies in testing tools.
- Review user documentation related to tested systems for accuracy prior to dissemination; identify discrepancies/errors and notify Software Testing Analysts.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, QA analysis, or related system testing roles.
- Knowledge of project lifecycles and management methodologies.
- Experience conducting regression and functional testing.
- Ability to create, maintain, and execute test cases.
- Strong documentation and defect-tracking skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
