A health services network is currently seeking a new Radiographer to join their Radiology Diagnostic team. In this role, the Radiographer will be responsible for preparing and safely positioning patients to get the most accurate images.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 13-week contract
- Shift: Days or Evenings
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week (rotating weekends)
- Hours: 9am to 5pm or 4pm to 12am
- Setting: Acute Care
Responsibilities:
- Review exam orders, consult with radiologist, schedule patients and arrange for transportation as indicated
- Identify patient and document all information pertinent to final report in the RIS and PACS
- Prepare all patients for radiological procedures requested by the clinician
- Arrange for proper protection of patients, public and staff from infectious diseases/materials
- Oversee the work of Radiographers and ancillary staff
- Instruct technical staff and Radiologic Technology students in routine, special positions and procedures.
- Perform diagnostic x-rays on patients
- Perform daily checks of imaging equipment, immobilization devices and other necessary accessories
- Reviews daily maintenance, quality assurance and maintains documents and logs as required and mandated by the department and various regulatory agencies
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary in the event of emergencies or disaster
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in a Hospital role/setting
- Graduate of an accredited course of study in Radiologic Technology
- Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH
- ARRT certification in Radiography
Desired Skills:
- AHA BLS certification
