A New York-based services organization is looking to add a compassionate and hardworking Registered Dietitian to its team in Rochester, NY.
About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities included but not limited to are:
- Maintains system for documenting information in an individuals' medical record.
- Documents appropriate information on diet history, food intake, caloric and other nutrient requirements, drug-nutrient interaction, and existing disease states.
- Utilizes appropriate computer support applications and maintains necessary databases to ensure appropriate care and service.
- Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team
- Teaches nutrition group classes during the work week and occasionally on rotating weekend schedule
- Communicates and collaborates with medical providers regarding patient's individualized nutrition needs
- Ensure the integration of cultural, religious and ethnic foods in the planning and delivery of balanced meals for culturally diverse patients
- Provide nutrition education to patients, families and staff
- Monitors patient food and fluid intake at meals i
- Participate in committees and taskforces as assigned
- Providing remote weekend on-call coverage on a rotating schedule
Requirements:
- Current certification in New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist OR maintains current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian.
- Candidate must have: Either 1: current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) Or 2: your New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition AND have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours* of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD. **If you are qualifying under #2, the additional 400 hours required is in addition to the 800 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD required for NYSED certification.
