A leading nonprofit services organization in Virginia is currently seeking a dedicated Registered Medication Aide to join their team in Suffolk.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire possibility)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (alternating weekends)
- Hours: 3pm to 11pm or 11p to 7am (30min unpaid lunch)
Responsibilities:
- Performing direct consumer care, such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal care, and supporting daily activities
- Assisting the Nurses with nail care and medical appointments
- Documenting consumer progress and activities in clinical records
- Administering insulin and assisting with medication management
- Reporting changes in consumer conditions to the Nurse
- Checking and stocking monthly medications
- Facilitating repairs of consumer equipment (e.g., glasses, hearing aids, wheelchairs)
- Safeguarding consumer rights and maintaining confidentiality
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of direct care experience within a Long Term Care facility
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification as Medication Technician
- Skills in Crisis Intervention and Behavior Management
- Proficiency in computer operation and record-keeping
