A hospital in the Capital Region is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Long Term Care staff as a Floor Nurse.

About the Opportunity:

  • Assignment Length: Ongoing
  • Shift: Day
  • Schedule: Friday to Monday
  • Hours: 7am to 7pm

Responsibilities:

The Floor Nurse (RN) will:

  • Oversee the coordination and administration of all medications, treatments and tube feeds for residents while providing emotional and physical well-being
  • Perform the delivery of IV therapy and associated treatments to residents, possibly throughout the facility
  • Transcribe the Physician’s orders and/or checks for three shifts and documents such transcription or review
  • Review and initial resident monthly orders prior to Physician signing and makes changes, as necessary
  • Review and initial monthly medication and treatment administration records prior to the beginning of the month for accuracy
  • Properly complete all necessary documentation
  • Keep accurate and complete records of all required and pertinent resident data, including care planning and the Minimum Data Set
  • Complete resident’s admission assessment as assigned
  • Maintain a safe, healthful environment for residents, staff, students and visitors
  • Follow all Infection Control guidelines for both the daily provision of care and isolation precautions
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in an Outpatient and/or Skilled Nursing role/setting
  • 1+ year of NICU, PICU, or Critical Care experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • CPR certification
  • Comfortable working with the Adolescent and/or Pediatric populations
  • VENT experience
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient-oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
