A leading educational institution in Yonkers, NY is currently seeking a dedicated School Nurse (RN) to join their team. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing services to students ranging from ages 3 to 18 in a collaborative school environment.

- Schedule: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:
The School Nurse (RN) will be responsible for:
- Performing nursing assessments and providing necessary treatments and care
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation for quality assurance
- Responding to and managing emergency medical situations
- Participating in care planning conferences and staff development
- Administering medication as prescribed
- Evaluating and maintaining emergency equipment
- Facilitating daily rounds and attending school trips as needed
- Collaborating with a transdisciplinary team, families, and community agencies
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Valid New York State RN License and Registration Certificate
- Current BCLS certification
- Experience with Trach, G-Tube, and Vents
- Proficient in comprehensive nursing assessments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively with children and handle multiple tasks
Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of experience working with children and medically involved populations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing
- Certified Pediatric Nurse credentials (preferred)
- Experience in a school setting
- Familiarity with students having mental health issues or IDD
