A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team in the Bronx. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for playing a vital role in supporting adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, ensuring their health and safety while promoting their well-being and independence.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: Temp to perm (Typically transitions after 3 months, but ongoing temp positions are available)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm
- Setting: Outpatient Day Habilitation Program
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care, evaluation, and therapeutic interventions for program participants
- Maintain accurate health records and disseminate proactive health information to staff and families
- Conduct staff training on OSHA standards, first aid, and medication administration support (AMAP)
- Supervise and guide LPNs and non-licensed staff, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient-oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
