A New York City-based healthcare network is looking to add a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to their Mental Health team at one of their inpatient forensic psychiatric facilities in Manhattan. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling, and care provision.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week & rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours: 7am to 7:30pm
- Setting: Inpatient Forensic Mental Health
Responsibilities:
- Complete an accurate assessment of individual patient's need for treatment
- Assess the need for patient and family instruction/teaching regarding the patient's medical/psychiatric diagnosis and identified medication/treatment regime
- Assess the learning capabilities of individual patients as it relates to delivery of patient care
- Formulate an individual written care of plan for each patient based upon comprehensive assessment findings, utilizing patient and family input
- Update the plan of care based on ongoing assessment
- Develop a patient education and discharge plan based upon assessment of patient/family needs and learning capabilities
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Previous experience with Forensic Psychiatric
