A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their growing inpatient psychiatric facilities in Brooklyn. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with mental illness.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 3-to-4-month assignment
- Shift: Days, Evenings, or Nights
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week (and rotating Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours: 7:30am to 4pm or 3:30pm to 12am or 11:30pm to 8am
- Setting: Inpatient Mental Health
- Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
Responsibilities:
- Conducting nursing assessments
- Preparing, implementing, and modifying nursing care plans
- Providing health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals and families
- Implementing infection control protocols and procedures
- Administer medications, observing and recording individual’s symptoms and care; reporting responses to medications or changes in health
- Checking and transcribing physicians’ orders in a timely manner
- Assisting with procedures and physical exams
- Conducting checks of treatment rooms for required equipment and ensuring its functionality
- Collecting vital signs, drawing blood, etc.
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related Nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of experience working in a Clinical setting
- Previous experience working within Inpatient Mental Health
