A health services network in New Jersey is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Operating Room team.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 13-week contract
- Shift: Evenings
- Schedule: Monday to Sunday (36 hours per week)
- Hours: 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM
Responsibilities:
- Evaluating, planning, and implementing effective plans of care and communicating with both patients and their families to ensure a positive surgical experience
- Serving as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care in the surgical setting
- Responding to changes in patient condition and treatment while maintaining a calm demeanor and ensuring patient safety
- Documenting patient care accurately and efficiently using the Electronic Health Record system
- Effectively coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members regarding changes in patient status, surgical procedures, and critical test values
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Operating Room experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Computer savvy
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient-oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association
- CNOR certification
