A health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their residential facilities in Manhattan. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing evaluation, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions in accordance with organization's policies, the regulations and requirements of applicable regulatory agencies and the standards of the profession.

Responsibilities:
- Arrange medical services for persons served and issues medical referrals, as needed
- Provide follow-up on medical problems for persons served
- Conduct training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of persons served
- Handle control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physician and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures and staff training in regard to infection control
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division
- Provide immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physician
- Participate in routine individual case reviews
- Prepare and maintain medical documentation on each person served
- Administer medications when appropriate, and supervises certified staff in administration
- Provide first aid and attends to emergency needs of persons served
- Transport persons served to appointments, as necessary
- Perform other related duties, as requested
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of equipment typically used by persons receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of Nursing experience in the delivery of Community-based Health Services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities
