A health services network in Binghamton,NY is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their growing inpatient psychiatric facilities. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with mental illness.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 3-to 4-month assignment
- Shifts: Day or Afternoons/Evenings or Nights
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week (and rotating Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours: 7am-3:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm or 11pm-7:30am
- Setting: Inpatient Mental Health
- Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
Responsibilities:
- Assessing the patients’ physical needs
- Checking and transcribing physicians’ orders in a timely fashion
- Administering medication
- Admit/discharge and transfer patients based on physician order
- Assisting with procedures and physical exams
- Conducting checks of treatment rooms for required equipment and ensuring its functionality
- Recording appropriate progress notes and other data into the patient’s medical record
- Supervising non-professional nursing staff - drawing blood, collecting vital signs, etc.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of Clinical experience working as a Registered Nurse
- License and current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in NYS
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
